Tutorial: Assigned work portal

Outcome: staff assign structured work; participants see only their plan, log progress, and upload proof; staff review on a separate surface. Domain swap: same shape as coaching, mentoring, or supervised field work. Swap the domain language for yours; keep the two-sided privacy rules.

Step 1 | Prompt in Build mode

Stay in Build mode and send:
Build an assigned work portal. Roles: staff and participant. Staff invite participants, collect a short intake, and assign categorized work blocks from a reusable library. Participants open a Today view with their current block, log progress, and upload proof (photo or short video). Staff have a review workspace to see proof and adjust the next block. Completing a session clears Today for that participant and keeps history for that participant only. Participants never see other participants’ plans, the library editor, or staff dashboards. Staff never lose the ability to reassign or review. No public unauthenticated API.

Step 2 | Review the plan by journeys

Approve when these journeys look right:
  1. Staff assign: staff pick from a library (or equivalent), assign a block, and see it land for one participant.
  2. Participant today: participant sees only their current work, can log progress, and can upload proof.
  3. Staff review: staff open pending proof, decide next work, and do not mix participant plans.
Staff and participant experiences must be separate and role-gated, not one board with filters. Adjust the brief if a journey is missing, then approve.

Step 3 | Preview, Access, and files

Select a project so Preview uses real project data.
  1. Preview as staff: assign a block from the library.
  2. Preview as participant: only their Today block; cannot open staff review or other plans.
  3. Upload proof as participant; confirm it appears on the staff review surface (typically via project files).
  4. Open App Blueprint → Access for participant. They must not edit the library, reassign others, or open staff dashboards. Re-check with Preview as.

Step 4 | Invite and launch

Invite real participants under End-Users with role participant. Confirm the portal lands on Today, not Build mode. Then follow Launch checklist.

  • Preview as staff: assign a block from the library
  • Preview as participant: only their Today block; cannot open staff review or other plans
  • Proof upload lands where staff can review it
  • Access findings clean for participant
  • Real invite lands in the portal on Today
