Seed data

In Build mode, GenieForge can set up starter data so new projects begin with demo rows or reference lists. That helps empty projects feel ready; it is not a replacement for each customer’s real information. You describe what “ready” should look like for a fresh workspace; GenieForge seeds it when that fits.

Where it lives

Seed setup is part of how GenieForge prepares projects. Live starter rows appear under project Tables (and on the pages that show them) in projects that received the seed.

How to verify

  1. Create or open a fresh project.
  2. Confirm the starter rows under project Tables (or the pages that show them).
  3. Confirm an existing production project was not overwritten.
  4. Preview as a role and make sure demo data is obviously disposable before go-live.

Limits and notes

  • Seed data is for onboarding emptiness, not a CRM migration.
  • Prefer clear demo labels so nobody mistakes seed rows for live customers.
  • Real customer data stays in each project; export/import does not move it.
