Reviews for slow tools

A published code tool that stays slow on portal pages can get a note on its tool page. The note suggests what to change. It does not edit the tool.

Turn it on

Open the app, then App Settings, then Advanced, then Tool reviews.
  • New apps start with Tool reviews on.
  • Apps you already had stay off until you turn them on.
  • Importing an app does not turn Tool reviews on.
  • Only an owner or admin can change the switch.
While it is on, reviews spend credits from the app owner’s balance. There is a daily limit. Turning the switch off stops new reviews.

What you see

The note shows on the tool page only while it still matches the published tool. A draft edit does not change the published note. Publish the new version, and the old note goes away if the published tool changed. It also goes away when a library that tool uses, or a page setting that loads it, changes. If the review does not find a change that would help, you do not get a note or a signal. Dismiss hides the note. The review conversation stays in Chats under Tool reviews. You can open it to read what the review looked at. A dismissed note does not run again until the published tool, a library it uses, or a page setting that loads it changes. The review reads the published tool, the libraries it imports, the page settings that load it, and the table and index layout. It does not read customer rows or environment variable values.
