Using the AI chat

Builder chat is where you design the app in Build mode and where people use what you already built in Chat mode. Brief outcomes; verify with Preview.

Which chat sees what

Chat mode is bound to the project you opened. The AI is told that project’s name so it does not mix data or imports with another workspace of the same app.

Build chat

Describe changes, review plans, and ask the AI to implement. Larger work usually goes through a plan you approve first. See How building works.

Select UI on pages

On a builder page, Select UI drops labeled chips into Page Chat so the AI knows which region you mean. See Select UI on pages.

Choosing a model

Pick a chat model (and optional Thinking effort) in the composer, or set Default Chat Model in App Settings. See Choosing a chat model.

Scratchpad

Open Scratchpad in the chat top bar for notes the AI keeps in this conversation. See Scratchpad.

Second opinion

Ask another model for a Second opinion without switching the host model. The guest can read data models to verify claims but cannot change the app. See Second opinion.

Fork chat

Fork chat from an assistant reply to try a different direction while keeping the original thread. See Fork chat.

Finding history

Open project Chats to search Build and Chat conversations, including end-user portal chats. See Finding past chats.
