Fork chat from a reply

In builder chat you can Fork chat from an assistant reply that has visible text. Prefer Fork over a brand-new chat when the prior plan and tool history still matter. Hover the reply and use the branch control next to feedback. Confirm in the dialog so you know what forking will do before it runs. Fork opens a new conversation that copies history through that reply (including earlier actions the AI took), plus the same mode, model, agent, and related chat settings. The original chat is unchanged. You continue in the new chat from that point. The Scratchpad is not copied; the forked chat starts with empty notes and keyed entries. Fork chat is available in builder chat (full page and the page side panel). It is not offered in the end-user portal. You can only fork from an assistant message with visible text, not from guest replies, welcome messages, or turns that only ran an action with no reply text.
