# Product roadmap

# Product roadmap

**Roadmap** in the app sidebar is the outcomes you have committed to: **Now**, **Next**, **Later**, and **Shipped**. Dropped items stay available as a filter.

This is not the Signals inbox. Signals answer what keeps happening in a project. The roadmap answers what this app is building next. Promoting a grouped signal onto the roadmap is a commitment, not an automatic copy of every report.

## Where it lives

Open **Roadmap** in the sidebar (same list as Preview and Publish). The page has no project picker. Export and import carry the board with the app.

## How items appear

* You add an outcome (title plus optional notes). New items start on Later.
* A feature plan in Build creates or links **Now** items from the plan’s features.
* From Signals → Grouped, **Add to roadmap** parks a cluster as Later or Next.

Keep grain large: one outcome people will notice, not one row per page or tool.

## Publish

When you Publish, only **linked Now** items (the ones the current plan is implementing) move to Shipped. Other Now items stay. Rolling back a published version does not un-ship a roadmap item.

The Publish confirm dialog lists what will mark Shipped and what stays on Now.

## Decisions

[Documentation](/primitives/documentation) can attach to a roadmap item. The item is what you committed to; the decision is why you built it that way.
