# Using the AI chat

> How Build chat, plans, Second opinion, and Fork chat work in GenieForge.

# Using the AI chat

Builder chat is where you design the app in **Build mode** and where people use existing capabilities in **Chat mode**.

## Build chat

Describe changes, review plans, and ask the AI to implement. Larger work usually goes through a plan you approve first.

## Second opinion

Ask another model for a **Second opinion** without switching the host model. The guest can read data models to verify claims but cannot change the app. See [Second opinion](/building/second-opinion).

## Fork chat

**Fork chat** from an assistant reply to try a different direction while keeping the original thread. See [Fork chat](/building/fork-chat).

## Finding history

Open project **Chats** to search Build and Chat conversations, including end-user portal chats. See [Finding past chats](/building/finding-past-chats).
