# Select UI on pages

> Point at a page region in the builder and drop labeled chips into Page Chat so GenieForge knows what you mean.

# Select UI on pages

**Select UI** helps you show GenieForge which part of a page you mean, without describing layout from scratch. Use it on a builder **page** (with a project open) when Chat or Build should focus on a specific control, table row, filter, KPI, or other region.

## Where it lives

On a builder page with a **project** selected: open **Chat** or **Build** in the page header, then turn on **Select UI**.

## How to verify

1. Open the page with a **project** selected.
2. Open **Chat** or **Build** in the page header.
3. Turn on **Select UI**, click one or more regions (chips appear in the composer).
4. Describe the outcome around the chips (for example: this filter should default to Open).
5. Send the message; chips also show in the sent bubble.
6. Press **Escape** (or turn Select UI off) when you finish picking.
7. Confirm the change with **Preview as** the role that uses that screen.

Remove a chip with its × or with Backspace when the caret is next to it.

## Limits and notes

* Builder page tool only. Portal users and **Preview as** do not see Select UI.
* Requires a project on the page (the header control stays hidden without one).
* GenieForge includes those picks with your message so the AI can target the right UI.
