# App Settings

> Find identity, secrets, registration, appearance, agent, privacy, and (on some apps) customer billing in App Settings.

# App Settings

**App Settings** is one sidebar item with an inner nav. Open it from the app sidebar, then pick the section that matches the job.

## Sections

| Section         | What you set                                                                                                                             |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Overview**    | App name, description, logo, default chat model. Unset secrets, a waiting BAA, or a missing privacy notice show here as Needs attention. |
| **Connections** | Environment Variables, Integrations, Web Data, and Outbound network.                                                                     |
| **Billing**     | Customer charges and workspace plans. Owner only. Some apps do not show this tab.                                                        |
| **Access**      | App and Project Registration, team sharing, organization, and the read-only Required steps list.                                         |
| **Appearance**  | Public brand colors, public brand fonts, Portal chrome, Landing chrome, Languages, and in-app page style.                                |
| **Agent**       | Default chat model, Memories, signal email, product usage, weekly digest, and chat UI toggles.                                           |
| **Privacy**     | HIPAA, Access log, Platform support access, and the end-user privacy notice.                                                             |
| **Advanced**    | Export, database provider, and **Danger Zone** (Transfer Ownership, Reset App, Delete App).                                              |

**Billing** appears only when GenieForge staff has turned on customer charges for the app. It is not your GenieForge subscription. Who pays for a workspace is in **Project Settings**. Portal owners manage plans under portal **Billing**. See [Customer portal](/projects-and-domains/portal). On HIPAA-enabled apps, workspace billing is payment-only: the owner must acknowledge that Stripe receives only what is needed to take payment. Project-level brand, domain, and join overrides stay in **Project Settings**. They are not on this page.

Each App Settings tab has a Help control in the header. Registration, Environment Variables, Compliance, Required steps, and Export also have Help next to the section title.
